Bird Watch Book CoverAnd in Palo Alto In conjunction with their exhibition, Bird in the Hand, the Palo Arts Center Foundation at 1313 Newell Road has copies in their book store of my award winning haiku collection, Bird Watch. In the Bay Area Independent Publilshers Newsletter, Lily O’Brien said, “In this first collection of haiku, remarkable for its evocation of the Northern California sand spit and salt water estuary where the writer-artist makes her home, over 150 poems take us through the four seasons on land and sea, in mind and heart.”

A graduate of Corcoran School of Art and George Washington University, I also earned a master’s degree in dance therapy from Washington University and founded IDEA, a modern dance company in Santa Monica. Co-founder with Judy Chicago and others of Womanspace, a nonprofit gallery in Los Angeles that evolved into the Woman’s Building, an arts and education center the L.A. Times called “a feminist mecca.”
